Taking a kitty to the vet is part of being a responsible pet owner and the Petmate Two Door Top Load 24-Inch Pet Kennel makes that job a little easier.  Most of my kitties weigh between 10lbs and 18lbs, yes I know, I have some large kitties, and the Petmate 24-Inch Kennel will accommodate kitties up to 20lbs.  The kennel also comes in a 19-Inch version that will accommodate kitties up to 10lbs. The first hurdle is getting the kitty in the carrier and having the top load door makes it a breeze to lower the kitty in to the kennel without having to force them through the smaller front door.  The top door secures nicely and the handle stays attached even when the kitty decides to dance a jig. A problem that I have had with previous top load carriers is the handle would come off.  The other thing that I like is the way that the top and bottom pieces of the carrier connect.  The kennel comes with screws and wing nuts to connect the two pieces, which eliminates the need to add zip ties to those carriers that use latches.  Petmate also gives you extra screws and wing nuts.  The steel and plastic construction and the addition of the top load door make the carrier a breeze to clean.  The kennel is also fantastic to take a group of kittens to the vet since the top load door makes it very easy to get them in and out.  The only thing that would improve this kennel would be the addition of a shoulder strap. I currently own three of these kennels and more are in my future!
